Marissa Meyer, MA, PhD in Progress, LPC, NCC, Counselor Supervisor
I’m Deeply Interested in Your Story ✨
I am deeply interested in the life story that the person in front of me has to share. I have always had an innate desire to empathetically come alongside those who are struggling.
When someone asks for my support, I take the trust that has been put on me very seriously. There is a humbling presence when two people gather to share the trials and triumphs of life authentically. This sacred space allows us both to learn and grow from the experience.
I am passionate about personal development and existential questions regarding purpose in one’s life. For example, which goals are worth our while and how should we go about pursuing them? What does it mean to flourish and live fully, and what does it take to do so?

Why I Became a Counselor 🎓
My journey into counseling was born from a genuine desire to be a source of support, especially during moments when people feel overwhelmed or lost. I’m passionate about helping others explore life’s biggest questions:
🔹 What gives life meaning and purpose?
🔹 Which goals are truly worth our pursuit?
🔹 How do we begin to flourish and live fully?
These are questions worth asking—and answering—together.
My Educational & Professional Background 👩🎓
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Colorado Christian University in 2016, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. Currently, I’m pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, where I continue to expand my skills to better serve my clients and mentor newer professionals in the field.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Counselor Supervisor, I bring both clinical knowledge and compassionate presence to our work together.
My Approach to Therapy 🪷
In my previous work experience, I have explored the sense of crisis, the significance of sound decision-making, and the examination of one’s values. This naturally involved addressing feelings of anxiety, depression, dealing with interpersonal relationships, and women’s issues.
Healing and experiencing emotional freedom requires a whole-person approach. That is, to consider the emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual aspects. Please know that you will not be viewed based on a label but as a whole individual.
Personal growth comes from processing life transitions and past losses. This organically lends itself to living a fuller life – unimpaired by unresolved issues.

Healing Trauma - by Peter Levine
“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening—a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation. I have little doubt that as individuals, families, communities, and even nations, we have the capacity to learn how to heal and prevent much of the damage done by trauma. In so doing, we will significantly increase our ability to achieve both our individual and collective dreams.”
― Peter A. Levine, Healing Trauma: A Pioneering Program for Restoring the Wisdom of Your Body

The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
“Traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs, and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from their selves.” (p.97)”
