Supporting Your Child or Teen Through Life’s Challenges

At 70 West Counseling, we understand that children and teenagers often face the same emotional and behavioral struggles as adults—but with fewer tools and less life experience to manage them. As a parent or caregiver, it can be heartbreaking and overwhelming to watch your child struggle. You don’t have to face it alone.

Our team is here to support you and your child through these critical developmental years. We partner with families to understand what challenges you’re facing, explore what steps you’ve already taken, and create a personalized action plan to help your child thrive.

Tailored Support for Every Child and Teen

No two children are alike. Some express themselves through words, while others may prefer drawing, playing, or simply being heard. Our compassionate counselors meet your child where they are—emotionally and developmentally—to build trust and provide the support they need in a way that feels safe and natural to them.

Whether your child needs targeted interventions or simply a space to talk freely, we’re equipped to handle a wide range of concerns. Some sessions may be lighthearted, others emotional. Both are part of the healing process.

Family-Centered Approach

Parents, stepparents, grandparents, and siblings all play an important role in a child’s emotional well-being. That’s why we begin with an initial session that includes both you and your child. This helps us gain a full picture of what’s going on—whether the challenges stem from home, school, or other areas—and how we can best help.

We value and encourage parental involvement throughout the counseling process. Your insights into your child’s behavior at home and school are vital. Depending on your child’s needs, sessions may include individual time with your child, joint parent-child sessions, or family sessions that bring everyone together.
