A Compassionate, Client-Centered Approach to Healing 🌿

Each individual is met with genuine compassion and a heartfelt desire to understand their story. Before healing begins, it is essential to feel seen and heard.
Effective therapy starts by appreciating your life story, your beliefs, and your challenges. That’s why I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where healing and growth can unfold at your own pace.

Academic & Scientific Background 🎓

Currently, I’m earning my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University, where I integrate evidence-based counseling, neuroscience, and consider the whole person holistically.

Earlier academic work focused on Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB). Along with additional focuses on cancer biology, immunology, anatomy, and physiology, these foundational sciences shape my holistic view of the human experience. That foundation strengthens my neuroscience-informed approach to mental health care.

My Counseling Philosophy 🕊️

My approach is trauma-informed and built around empathy, safety, and respect. I believe in creating not only a safe space, where you feel supported and protected—but also a brave space, where you are empowered to face difficult emotions and experiences with courage. Healing from trauma takes bravery, and I’m here to walk with you through that process.

Evidence-Based Theories I Use: Integrating Science, Story, and Self 🛠️

I believe in adapting therapy to honor your unique story and needs. The techniques I use work together to support emotional healing, insight, and lasting change:

Narrative Therapy 📖 – This approach helps you rewrite your life story, allowing you to reclaim your identity, values, and goals.

Person-Centered Therapy 🌿 – Rooted in empathy and unconditional positive regard, it creates safety, acceptance, and trust.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) 🧠 – With CBT, we identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs. Together, we’ll explore how thoughts shape emotions and behaviors, replacing negativity with healthier perspectives.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) 👁️ – A powerful, evidence-based method for processing trauma and distressing memories.

Mindfulness and Grounding 🧘 – Gentle practices that bring you back to the present moment, restoring calm and connection to your body.

Together, these approaches allow us to explore the vital question:
“What happened to you?”—not “What’s wrong with you?”

🌱 You are more than your symptoms. Healing means honoring every part of your journey—and creating space for a future grounded in hope, strength, and self-understanding.

Healing Trauma - by Peter Levine

“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening—a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation. I have little doubt that as individuals, families, communities, and even nations, we have the capacity to learn how to heal and prevent much of the damage done by trauma. In so doing, we will significantly increase our ability to achieve both our individual and collective dreams.”
― Peter A. Levine, Healing Trauma: A Pioneering Program for Restoring the Wisdom of Your Body

Book Cover The Body Keeps The Score

The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma

“Traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs, and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from their selves.” (p.97)”
― Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
